Childhood Home
Description
This is a sketch of my childhood home in Pakistan that I moved from when I was 10 years old. It had a pink roof and was surrounded by trees. Most of the roofs were slanting and the walls were usually a pale white or mustard brown. The arched doors were a very popular architectural feature in South East Asia as it took an influence from 12th century Indian palaces and burial grounds.
Design Process
Because I am new to coding through coordinates, I drew the basic shape of the house on grid paper to map out where to place my 2D primitive shapes first. I used basic RGB code for the fill and the ellipse, rectangle and triangle functions for most of my shapes. The more challenging shape was the arc for the door in which I used the -PI,0, CHORD function. I used blendMode (DARKEST) for the shapes to overlap onto each otherlike the trees would in real life . I wanted to create the flare to depict the glare of the harsh sun back home and used the ellipse and push, pop and translate
